Nama group participating at the Career Fair
Namagroup, previously known as Electricity Holding Company, has joined othergovernment and private bodies at the career fair at Sultan Qaboos University.The fair lasted for three days in a row starting on March 10th andsucceeded to attract about 3000 graduate in various disciplines.
Namagroup’s participation was through presenting GDP (Graduates DevelopmentProgram) which offers massive opportunities for fresh Omani graduates to starttheir career. The program simply aims at training BA holders in various relevantdisciplines, as well as preparing them to engage in the wider business community.
GDP is an 18months long program. Candidates will start from HR department where they areintroduced to HR policies and safetyinductions. After that, an introductory workshop will be held about thedepartment’s role with Nama Group CEO and Department and the respective head ofthe department. 5 training modules will then be presented which are Introductionto Supply Chain, Planning & Economic Development, Project Development,Project Implementation and Client Contracts & Interface. After successfullycompleting all 5 modules, a team of experts will evaluate the candidates andeventually will be assigned to their respective job positions by Nama Group.
“Thereason behind the Group’s interest in such fairs is due to believing in the necessityof developing and polishing raw human talent. The main goal is to create a workenvironment where Omanis can benefit from the global technical knowledge”, saidIbraheem al-Sulaimani, CEO of human resources at Nama Group.
Not to forget thatthe group has already started prompting its Graduate Development Program inJanuary 2015 during its participation at Oman’s Cultural Week that wasorganized by the Omani students association in UK.
